We ensure that the physical campus environment – comprising 36 buildings, 1,066,158 GSF with diverse uses, and 58 acres of buildings, open space and parking lots (including 16 duel electric vehicle charging stations)- meets the educational and research needs of the University today and in the future.

FACILITIES BUSINESS OPERATIONS
- Ensures the fiscal processes of Facilities Management are aligned with the demands of the University’s policies, procedures, and business systems to ensure an efficient, customer-focused organization;
- Financial and management information development and reporting including capital, operating, and deferred maintenance budgets;
- Facilities staff employee development;
- Departmental procurement processes, administration, and interface with financial systems;
- Business continuity planning, business process documentation, and continuous process redesign/improvement.
PLANNING, DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
- Creates, collects, analyzes, and maintains data related to the University’s physical environment and assets.
- Works collaboratively with the University Community to guide the evolution of the physical campus, collect and maintain facility information, accommodate growth needs, and improve existing facilities.Ìý
- Collaborates with and supports the Administration & Finance Office in developing the University’s Capital and Master Plans.ÌýCapital Project Planning involves representing the University’s interests during the study and schematic design stages of capital projects with a focus on defining programmatic requirements and guiding the early stages of the design process to achieve project objectives as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Executes all campus design and construction projects with a focus on identifying space needs, conducting feasibility studies, and providing programming and design oversight to support appropriately-sized and up-to-date facilities.
- Provides a university-wide, long-term planning context for decisions about campus growth and evolution. Focuses on the character, aesthetics and function of each area ~ and how all University activities and locations can best function as a unified whole.
